Drive 4UR Community a success!

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

The Drive 4UR Community fundraiser event, presented by Harlingen Sunburst Rotary Club and Boggus Ford Harlingen, was held Saturday, July 11, with approximately 170 drivers participating in support of La Posada.

For every free test-drive completed, the Ford Motor Company donated $20 to La Posada’s Pavilion Project. The event included an antique car show, karaoke, snacks and refreshments. The vehicles showcased included F150 trucks, Ford Explorers, Focus and Mustangs.

The funds raised will support the building of a new pavilion on the grounds of the shelter, which will be used by staff, clients and volunteers for outdoor classes, performances and other outdoor activities.

“We want to thank everyone who braved the heat and came out to improve our shelter and strengthen our community,” said Program Director Sister Zita Telkamp, CDP.

La Posada would like to thank all the attendees, volunteers and sponsors of this event, including the Harlingen Sunburst Rotary Club, Boggus Ford and Treasure Hills Presbyterian Church, who allowed us to use their parking space for this event.
