The majority of people have experienced moving away from their hometown at some point in their lives. They might merely travel to the nearby city.   However, other people will have to completely leave their home country for a period of time, sometimes forever saying goodbye to families and friends. At La Posada Providencia, we set a new milestone this fiscal year by welcoming over 2,400 guests. They arrive at our shelter exhausted from their journey after being processed by federal officials. A warm welcome, a warm meal, a comfortable shower, clothing, and a secure place to spend the night are what we offer immediately.  In other cases, we provide asylum-seekers with immigration legal assistance, counseling, and medical visits, among many other vital services.
