Texas Association of School Boards Visits La Posada Providencia

Texas Association of School Boards Visits La Posada Providencia

This past week we received a visit from nearly 40 members of the Texas Association of
School Boards (TASB). They were aware that La Posada Providencia shelters and provides services to recently released asylum seekers. They wanted to learn about the ESL classes we offer to our clients – how we teach the classes and how we serve our young clients that we have enrolled in school. They also wanted to know how they can help our youngest learners and how to support our mission.

Bill Rutherford, Ed. D., Senior Consultant, Leadership TASB Program & Program Manager, Leadership Team Services, made the initial contact with Program Director Sister Zita Telkamp, CDP and coordinated the group’s visit.

Sister Margaret Mertens, CDP, makes a presentation to visitors from the Texas Association of School Boards
