Last Thursday, we were honored to have some special guests visit La Posada. In the morning, we welcomed Arcella Aguliar, RN, MSN from the Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM). Arcella gave two presentations, one in English and the other in Spanish, to our clients on personal hygiene. Clients Ana, Martin, Esmeralda, Nelson, Lisandro, Pele, Yared, Karim and Miguel were in attendance. MHM is a private, faith-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing medical, dental and health-related human services to low-income families and the uninsured in South Texas.

In the afternoon, Pastor Carolyn McGuire from Wesley United Methodist Church visited with the clients and presented La Posada with check for $303. The congregation designated one Sunday each month as Communion Sunday and a special collection, a “Railing Offering,” is taken up and given to charity.  This month, they chose La Posada as that charity.

We are grateful to Pastor Carolyn and to Arcella for touching the lives of our clients and for making God’s Providence visible.
