Shirley is a caring mother, devoted to her children. She made the determined decision to leave her home in Colombia in search of an untroubled and more peaceful life for her small family. She says that her stay here at La Posada has been”maravillosa”, marvelous, tranquil, peaceful, and restful. A welcoming place where she has been shown respect and consideration towards herself and her children

She explains how it’s not easy traveling with children, and she’s very grateful for the patience and understanding showed towards her. Shirley is also grateful for La Posada’s nurturing environment, which has given her the opportunity to meet new people and gain valuable knowledge, adding that, “uno aprende”, one learns from new surroundings. When asked about her country of origin -Colombia – she made sure to include the culture surrounding food, dance, and fairs.

Traditions that she has shared with others at La Posada, contribute to the diverse community where people can connect and relate to one another by sharing special parts of their culture. Revealing her dreams for her future, she pointed out how she wants to be at peace, to see her children grow up with God and follow the right path. Her ultimate dream is for them to live peacefully and have the opportunity to prosper in life.

As Shirley prepares to embark on a new journey, she wishes for others to know how thankful she is for everything that has come her way here at La Posada, emphasizing how she believes that things always happen for a reason, as it is all a part of God’s plan to guide her to positive places like La Posada.
