La Posada staff and clients pose for a photo together with members of the Grace Lutheran Church congregation.

(SAN BENITO, Texas) On Sunday, Sept. 13, La Posada’s clients and staff were invited to Grace Lutheran Church, in Harlingen, for a morning worship service followed by a catered luncheon in celebration of their annual international theme: “God’s Work, Our Hands.”

This was a way for Grace Lutheran to not only honor their theme to reach out into the community and make a difference, but also to introduce the Lutheran congregation to La Posada’s mission of “welcoming the stranger.”

Immediately following  the service, staff and clients were treated to lunch and a beautifully decorated cake with a special message: “Welcome La Posada.”

Before leaving, our clients received large shopping bags and were invited to help themselves at tables stocked with personal hygiene products, school supplies of all kinds, and even individual snack packs.

La Posada would like to thank Rev. Eric Petty and his Grace Lutheran Church congregation for allowing La Posada staff and clients to experience “God’s work with your generous hands.”
