The afternoon of Sunday, July 28, well-wishers from far and wide joined the local community to pay tribute to La Posada Program Director Sister Zita Telkamp. This year marks her 70-year anniversary of entering her religious community, the Sisters of Divine Providence. Sharing in the celebration were La Posada staff, volunteers, members of the Board of Directors, clients, friends, and local dignitaries.

The merienda was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen. Many thanks to the congregants of Grace Lutheran, who generously shared their community space, decorated and set up for the event. Special kudos to church members and La Posada Board members, Jan Demro, Susan Kerens and Rita Galloway.

Many thanks to Board member Paula Olivarez and members of Our Lady Queen of the Universe & St. Joseph parish who helped to prepare the food. With her gifts for organizing and managing, Paula always produces a wonderful event. Our gratitude also to Carl and Leticia Eads, who provided the wine for the gathering.
