Humanitarian Aid

Humanitarian Aid

Soap, toothbrushes, and razors; we utilize them daily to ensure we are maintaining our hygiene—a necessity we often take for granted. For many of the clients at La Posada who are forced to flee their homes, making it through the arduous journey into the United States leaves minimal room for hygiene. It is easy for society to reject the humanity of asylum seekers, refugees, and undocumented individuals when they are unclean. Enhancing the quality of life for the clients at La Posada begins with providing them with the human right to be clean.

Last week we received a generous donation of hygiene kits from Red Cross Representative Greg Doolittle. For the clients experiencing displacement, the hygiene kits maintain not only their health but their dignity as well. A seemingly small intervention like providing clients with a small bag that contains shampoo, body soap, razors, and more allows them to feel safe, refreshed, and full of hope—in times of emergency, there is nothing more invaluable than security and hope!
