Dr. Jarrett showing participants how to properly wash their hands

Dr. Erica Jarrett is a longtime friend and volunteer at La Posada Providencia.  She has been committed to coming to the shelter once a week for the last five years.  She volunteers her time to perform health checkups on our babies and children that reside at La Posada.  She is a great and helpful resource to have.

Recently, Dr. Jarrett visited La Posada to talk to staff and clients about the importance of washing one’s hands.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is especially important to practice good hygiene.  She spoke to staff and clients about how the virus can be spread and how important it is to always wash one’s hands for a minimum of 20 seconds.  She taught everyone how to properly wash hands and the effects of not doing it properly.  She also took the time to have all participants wash their hands and then use a fluorescent light to show if they had done it properly.  This activity was informative as people could see how effective their hand-washing is. The staff and clients at La Posada Providencia are thankful for Dr. Jarrett’s commitment to educating and serving.
