Community Steps Up for La Posada During the Holidays

Tuesday, December 8, 2015

La Posada Providencia would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the groups and individuals who have stopped by our shelter to donate essential items for our clients for the past few weeks.

Thanks to you, our clients had a chance to have a delicious Thanksgiving meal and continue to benefit from your generous donations.

We want to give a very special thank you to the Harlingen Knights of Columbus Council #11070, Girl Scouts Troop #109, Senator Eddie Lucio, Harlingen Sunburst Rotary Club, and the Rio Grande Valley Loaves and Fishes.

“This is a community that truly lives by the words of Matthew 25-35, ‘For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me,'” said Sister Zita Telkamp, CDP, La Posada’s Program Director. “We know the holidays are a busy season for everyone, so we are extremely appreciative for those who take their time to help those need.”

Visit www.lppshelter.org/waystogive for more information on how you can make a difference in the lives of the hundreds of men, women and families served by our shelter.
