Come, Lord Jesus – Santa Stroll Bake Sale Raise Awareness

Come, Lord Jesus – Santa Stroll Bake Sale Raise Awareness

The background on our dining room wall has the words: Come, Lord Jesus.

As we lit the third candle on our Advent wreath this past Sunday, we sang a hymn from Carey Landry, “Come Lord Jesus, come and be born in our hearts.”

Excerpts from the Sunday’s scripture readings explain how we can prepare for the nativity –“Come, Lord Jesus, and be born in our hearts:

Rejoice in the Lord always…Indeed, the Lord is near.

Your kindness should be known to all.  The Lord is near.”

The crowds asked John the Baptist, “What should we do?”   His answer: “Whoever has two cloaks should share with the person who has none.  And whoever has food should do likewise.”

Kerry O’Brien and students

La Posada staff and clients have been treated with the presence of three volunteers from St. Teresa of Avila’s Church in Chicago, Illinois. Cindy Sternisha, and Kerry and Rebecca O’Brien arrived this past week.

Kerry installed a railing at Casa Carolina and put up outdoor Christmas lights while Rebecca taught our children how to use the two tablets and headphones they purchased. Cindy has been a great tutor and made a trip or two to the airport.  Both Cindy and Rebecca spent hours helping to prepare for our bake sale last Saturday.

We are so grateful to these volunteers and the entire parish of St. Teresa’s.
