Brunch Committee: Where Hands & Hearts Meet
Tuesday, September 29, 2015

(SAN BENITO, Texas) With less than five months until our annual morning gala, La Posada’s Hands & Hearts Brunch & Auction planning committee members have been working diligently to recruit local businesses and organizations to purchase ads in our program book, become sponsors for the event, and donate items for the event’s silent auction.

Last Tuesday, the committee met to discuss and continue the preparations for next year’s event, which will take place Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016.

“We are very excited with the response we’ve received from the community so far,” said Hands & Hearts planning committee chair, Paula Olivarez. “Our committee is very grateful for all the support we’ve received. We are motivated to make this year’s event the best yet.”

The 2016 Hands & Hearts fundraiser will be the sixth annual morning gala celebrated by La Posada. All proceeds will benefit the homeless men, women and children served by the shelter. The 2016 fundraising goal is of $100,000! Given the success we have had with this popular fundraiser and the fact that it has grown year after year, we are confident that we can meet this new goal.

“In God’s Providence and with the support of the community, we will make the goal,” says La Posada Development Director, Ana Schulz.

We want to take this moment to thank all the wonderful individuals, groups and businesses who have purchased an ad and/or have become sponsors thus far. They are: Megamorphosis, Inc.; Ruiz Law Center, P.L.L.C.;  Jodi Goodwin Law Office; Honey Bees;  Harlingen Medical Center; CDP Associates – Marie de la Roche Province; Confraternity of Christian Mothers of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, Pennsylvania; and Marlene McClain.

“La Posada is blessed to have the continuous support of our wonderful community,” said Program Director, Sister Zita Telkamp, CDP. “Without them, our event wouldn’t be possible.”

Sponsorship and advertisement opportunities will continue to be available until the end of January.
