As we reflect on this week’s Thanksgiving holiday, all of us here at La Posada have so much to be grateful for. The support of so many people— family, friends, volunteers, donors, community members—continues to sustain La Posada and our work. We truly thank God every time we remember you.
Each year, the weekdays after Thanksgiving have a name and a purpose. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, when many people buy things for others and for ourselves. Nearly ten years ago, Giving Tuesday was added.
Giving Tuesday is a worldwide movement to inspire generosity in the hearts of many. This pivotal act sparks a ripple effect of kindness and fosters the belief that every single person has the power to change the world. In a recent interview, La Posada Development Coordinator Susie Arizmendi said she appreciates special days like Giving Tuesday because she believes most people are good and generous when given the chance to be.
La Posada is entering the movement this upcoming Tuesday, November 30th. We ask you to please consider La Posada Providencia for your charitable donation. Your act of kindness and generous gift will help La Posada follow the Gospel mandate to welcome the stranger and serve the vulnerable community that continues to arrive at our doorstep.
