I am from Weslaco, Texas. As an adult, I moved to Edinburg, Texas, lived there about 12 years, and moved to Harlingen, Texas, about three years ago. It’s safe to say; I am an RGV local. I am a mother of five that enjoys listening to Frozen on replay, hoping I picked the right color of a bowl for my daughter’s cereal. After spending two years at home with my little munchkins, I am excited to return to the workforce and continue dedicating my efforts to the nonprofit world. I am passionate about advocacy, justice, and being a decent human being to all. I am excited and honestly proud to join La Posada as its mission and values align with my ambitions.
For fun and self-care, I enjoy reading or listening to audiobooks. I love baking but appreciate frosting more than anything. Frosting relaxes me, and the best part is I get to eat my finished product. I also enjoy buying plants from my local grocery store and keeping them at my home till the verge of death. Then, taking them to my mom’s house for what we like to call “plant rehab,” where her green finger brings them back to life. Even though I love my space to be filled with nature, I am sadly not blessed as a plant whisperer or with a green finger. When I’m having a rough day, I like to order curbside Chick-fil-A and eat chicken nuggets in my driveway while listening to Journey.
