Remember #Giving Tuesday next week!

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving, celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.). #Giving Tuesday and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, kick off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Oh What a Night!

“Bling-O! Night” was a huge hit! Approximately 100 people turned out for this first-time event and packed Mount Calvary Christian Church in Harlingen Nov. 17. The guests enjoyed a great evening and helped raise more than $4,000 for La Posada Providencia.

Many of the guests dressed for a “ladies’ night out” and wore fabulous outfits and fashion accessories. As they played the classic game of bingo, they were entertained by the funny and flamboyant Mistress of Ceremonies Beatrix Lestrange. During the break, the guests were treated to a special show by Beatrix Lestrange followed by guest performer Ariel C. Brooks.

For three hours, people played, ate and laughed. It looks like “Bling-O! Night” will become an annual fundraiser for La Posada!
