 The Power of Generosity

#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020. It’s in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. #GivingTuesdayNow is designed to drive an influx of grassroots generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. It’s a day when we can all come together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.

La Posada Providencia is joining this global effort by first acknowledging the power of generosity experienced through its donor support. The power of generosity has not only helped us help hundreds of homeless immigrants in dire need, but it also has brought the whole world together in times of uncertainty. Second, La Posada wishes to celebrate the movement that has occurred over the past few weeks and months, where the entire world has been coming together to stand up, help, give back, and heal. Whether that’s through donations to community organizations like ours, celebrating health care workers and other essential workers, or reaching out to a neighbor to help with groceries, generosity has been helping the entire world get through this global pandemic. Our collective generosity has manifested the best in all of us.

We encourage all of you to continue moving this power movement of generosity forward in any way you can and are able – through prayers, celebrating health care workers and other essential workers, or reaching out to a neighbor living alone, patronizing local businesses as they slowly begin to reopen and by donating to local non-profits like La Posada.
