La Posada Providencia is committed to cultivating and protecting the Earth and all creation and empowering the clients through education. A significant advantage of La Posada’s land and warm climate is the ability to have a year-round garden. Hence, we can teach the clients how to garden while simultaneously growing delicious food for the shelter to enjoy during meals. Various foods that La Posada has grown include papayas, cabbages, and tomatoes. Recently, La Posada Providencia Board Member Susan Kerens graciously volunteered to work in the vegetable and flower gardens and teach clients how to grow plants efficiently. She has begun to plant vegetables and guides the clients on how to water the garden in the future.
We look forward to seeing the garden thriving. Thank you, Susan Kerens!
