A Tasty English Lesson

A Tasty English Lesson

With the help of volunteer Sister Alice Gerdeman, CDP, a Sister of Divine Providence of Kentucky, from Cincinnati, Ohio, clients at La Posada learned the words needed to read and follow a recipe for Apple Crisp.  “This is one of the best smelling lessons we’ve had,” said an appreciative client.  Apples and cinnamon baking in the oven is a warm way to share autumn. Teaching English in this creative way certainly adds fun to the ingredients.

Thank you, Sister Alice, for creating this experience for our clients! Sister Alice and her sibling, Ruth, were featured in our October 15, 2019 Tuesdays in Texas.

The class used the Apple Crisp II recipe by Diane Kester found on allrecipes.com.

Here it is if you want to try it.
