On July 25, 2020, Hurricane Hanna hit the Rio Grande Valley. Hurricane Hanna began as a tropical storm but quickly transformed into a Category 1 hurricane. La Posada prepared for the storm by gathering flashlights, batteries, and necessary supplies. After the storm, broken branches and debris could be found on the property. Luckily, La Posada did not experience any flooding.
The Rio Grande Valley has experienced several hardships as the area has been hit by both a hurricane and a high rate of COVID-19 cases. The Valley has been living with the threat of COVID-19, and now is further impacted by flooding, loss of electricity in many areas, and damage to property.
La Posada hopes that everyone affected by this weekend’s events is safe and well.
