La Posada Providencia continues to respond to a dramatic increase in need for shelter services by new immigrants and asylum seekers who have been recently released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  La Posada typically supports 200-250 clients annually—yet, at the time of this writing, we have sheltered 455 individuals, and we are only 9 ½ months into this fiscal year (July 1, 2012 – April 15, 2013). If this rate of arrivals continues, our shelter projects we will serve 575 individuals by the end of this fiscal year. Our ability to respond to this immense need—to fulfill our mission of “welcoming the stranger”—would not be possible without our donors, supporters, and volunteers.  On behalf of our clients and staff, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks!
